At the October 12 show in Seattle Eleanor announced that Single Again is to be released for US distribution is January. This is exellent news for the band, but more so for the fans. The single has only been released in the UK in July 2004 so far. Thanks to laird for the news.

Rolling Stone published a review of 'Blueberry Boat' in the current (October 14, 2004) issue of the magazine. The album was given 2 stars. What were they thinking? Click here to read.
The Fiery Furnaces are involved in
the current issue of Under The Radar, titled 'The
Protest Issue'. As reported
on the forum
and
in this article,
the issue is devoted to examining the intersection
of rock music and politics. Artists interviewed include
Death Cab For Cutie, Interpol, The Flaming Lips and
Le Tigre, among numerous others. An article and an
interview with The Fiery Furnaces are featured in
the magazine.
In connection to this, Under The Radar is sponsoring
an eBay auction of protest signs lettered and signed
by many of the artists featured in the issue.
The protest signs are being auctioned on eBay from
October 1 - 7 and the profits donated to Music For
America, a non-profit organization that uses music
to encourage young people to vote.
